“O’Brien labels York vets’ request ‘insane’

"Big – race report plus angry Aiden in blast at York officials.

TURFCALL: Aidan’s anger justified, left to bare unnecessary stress forced upon him by authority parties, whilst attempting to carry out his duties to the horses, and properly, whilst on the York racecourse.

Personnel employed by the British Horseracing Authority, inclusive of vet’s appear to be forced to comply with big wig ‘Bloodhorse Illiterate Parties’ employed within the British Horseracing Authority, an authority estimated to be acting at a rate level of 93% per cent Bloodhorse Illiteracy. Whereas those who have achieved Bloodhorse Literacy have only an estimated 7% per cent level of representation within the BHA.

A severely unbalanced authority who appear in this case to be short in the ‘common sense’ department, short in the ‘welfare’ department, short in the ‘care and needs’ department, short in the ‘humane’ department, short in the ‘be fair’ department, short in the ‘be reasonable’ department, short in the’ time and place’ department.
Not only applicable to the people who are involved but also to the horses that are
involved. A situation that is inhibiting both the horses and the people who accompany each and every horse.

BLOODHORSE ILLITERACY ON A SCALE that is blocking the true justice applicable to, and needed to uphold the true rights and needs of all professional horsemen and horsewomen to include the horses.

DANGEROUS KEY FACTS URGENTLY IN NEED OF ATTENTION TO STOP FALSE ACCUSATIONS AND UNJUST PUNISHMENTS BEING LEVIED UPON BLOODHORSE LITERATE PARTIES TO INCLUDE THE HORSES.

JONATHEN MULLIN REPORTING FOR THE RACING POST (14.05.2010) WRITES THIS:

O’BRIEN LABELS YORK VETS’REQUEST ‘INSANE’

"AIDEN OBRIAN last night defended his decision not to allow CAPE BLANCO to be trotted in front of the York vets for a second time and labelled their request as ‘insane”.

"The Irish champion trainer was referred to the British Horseracing Authority for refusing to trot the Dante winner post- race and for the non-appearance of his representatives before the York stewards as requested. “Before the open day this week, Cape Blanco caught the back of his heal – he gave it a right belt-and in the race he did the same except harder,” said O’Brien. “We all saw how sore he was coming back and that he was lame. The vets at York trotted him and everyone could see he was in discomfort.

“So we got him, back down to the yard and got it iced and poulticed, and the lads got him comfortable and ready for home.

“And what happens next? The vets come down and say they want to see CAPE BLANCO trotting - not for CAPE BLANCO’S benefit, but for theirs (BHA’S)

“It’s the most ‘insane’ thing I have ever heard. Why would you want to trot him again on a bruised heel and cause him more pain?

“So the lads called me and I said ‘no’ – the horse comes first and under no circumstances was this horse allowed to trot. He tried his heart out for us and it is always our policy to put the horse first.

“They have seen him walk and they had examined his leg, and they had been happy with both.”

"O’Brien’s representatives did not appear in front of the stewards as requested, and the Ballydoyle trainer explained: “With all this pantomime the lads were nearly going to miss the flight so they had to leave the course to make it and get CAPE BLANCO home.

“What we were to do – miss the flight because of it? Everybody knows the uncertainty with the volcanic ash – you have to make the flight when you can, because you can’t be sure about tomorrow.”

He added: “We’re sorry if we caused any controversy for anybody – our policy is: the welfare of the horse always comes first.”

O’Brien was referred to the BHA under rule 83 which states: “Each person must comply with any instruction given by the stewards of a meeting.”

Speaking after O’Brien’s decision, stipendiary steward Robert Earnshaw said:”I have requested that they should come and see the stewards but they have refused to do so – they are heading to the airport as we speak, and I shall be referring the matter to BHA. The horse appears a little sore, but we don’t know to what extent.
